What People Are Saying about: Hiawatha - Nothing Faster On Rails: March 08 2015

It is not every day that a seminal book of this magnitude comes along.  It has been 20 years since the last one.
Just a note to let all interested that The Milwaukee Shops long awaited and anticipated second book on Milwaukee Shops built passenger cars 1936 to 1942 has finally arrived. The title is "Hiawatha - Nothing Faster On Rails". It is over 250 pages of just about everything you would ever want to know about these unique and colorful cars. How they were built, how they were operated, the locos that pulled them, just about everything. There are drawings, color renderings , detail photos and in depth text.

What a book, all my other railroad books fades in comparison, this is a book that that Karl F. Nystrom and Charles H. Bilty would have bought and I can almost see them looking down, with a smile of approval....you've done the Milwaukee Road spirits proud....

I only wish, hope for, that you'll reprint the first volume, as I missed that one...

I can't wait for the next one!

I will say it again, this book is fab!
Who needs porn when there are books like this, on the MILW.

Received the book Volume 2  today at noon and after a brief review over lunch it is outstanding. This is the book I have been waiting for, for 30 years! Thanks and congratulations to you and the Milwaukee Shops team for another job well done! Looking forward to volume 3 but a much needed rest is understood.

Thank you for sending me this book of Hiawatha - Nothing Faster On Rails as I got received by mail today. I do appreciated this book as extremely interested about prewar passenger trains.  So I will watch future volume of postwar Hiawatha including 1947 Olympian Hiawatha and 1948 Hiawathas plus other trains as soon.  Please let me know about future books as possible. Thank you again about this volume.

Wow! "Hiawatha Nothing Faster On Rails" is quite a book.
I was born in Milwaukee and the first train I rode was the Chippewa (steam powered) and I've been a Milwaukee Road nut since then. I'm fortunate to have a copy of your first book and have enjoyed reading it and looking at the pictures many times.
Your latest book is fantastic as far as I'm concerned. It's a wonderful read. With as many 'Road' books that I have, I'm surprised at how many pictures you found that I've never seen before.
Keep up the great work. I'm already looking forward to your next publication.
